Where the island girl goes on vacation

So. I already work on an island and most people go to islands when they go on vacation. So where does an island girl on vacation? In an area with freezing cold temperatures of course! Am currently on a Seattle stopover before proceeding to Alaska. Wish me luck! Looking forward to seeing humpback whales and...
Waiting outside

Waiting outside

When the water level gets too low, large boats can’t get into the Big Lagoon anymore. The boats end up outside the Lagoon and tied to a mooring buoy while their guests either kayak or snorkel + walk in.
Where I want to live

Where I want to live

Definitely a bigger place but yes, something over the water.
What is an experience worth?

What is an experience worth?

I may not mention it outright or link to the company’s official website, but I think most people here know that I work for a high-end resort in El Nido, Palawan. My official job title is “Environmental Officer” but because of my fondness for blogging and social media, I tend to keep track and update...
Exploring Fuerza de Santa Isabel

Exploring Fuerza de Santa Isabel

After the 12 days straight of nature interpretation training in Miniloc and Lagen, we moved to Apulit in Taytay for Batch 4 of the training. It wasn’t included in our original schedule but we reconfigured it once we found out that the Pangulasian “Shark Squad” would be in Apulit and available to take over for...

A full belly and aching feet in Puerto Princesa

The previous post is up here. Yes, it’s taken me this long to write about the second part of my Puerto Princesa adventures. This trip happened last July 8-9. *hangs head in shame* We woke up at 7am because we needed to get an early start for the day’s activities. The latest we could leave...
Eating my way through Puerto Princesa

Eating my way through Puerto Princesa

I work in El Nido, a municipality on the northwestern side of Palawan. The funny thing is that people are always surprised they I tell them it takes 6 hours non-stop to travel from El Nido to Puerto Princesa by land. First: Puerto Princesa is on the opposite side of Palawan so you travel via...
Leave no footprints behind

Leave no footprints behind

Funny how the waves continuously wash your footprints away, leaving no trace that you were ever there. This is my summer. Shot on the beach of Dilumacad Island in El Nido, Palawan and edited with Snapseed. Entered in Ailsa’s Summer photography challenge. In the Philippines, it’s summer for half the year!
Your early morning voyages

Your early morning voyages

Once you’re in El Nido, I highly recommend getting up at sunrise and kayaking to the Big Lagoon. It’s a great way to jumpstart your morning. Just remember to turn in early the night before! P.S. This photo was edited using Snapseed. I am having so much fun with it!

Welcome to paradise

Welcome to paradise

I flew back to my workplace last April 29. These were the views from the airplane window. My favorite is the one with the plane’s shadow. This was the first time I tried to photograph it and it turned out okay, I think. I have no idea which island is in the top photo –...
Remembering Australia (part 1/?)

Remembering Australia (part 1/?)

I’m finally getting around to organizing the photos from my trips these past few years in preparation for finally getting them printed in their respective photo books. The process is both time-consuming and rewarding. The one I’m working on now is for a trip to Australia in 2010, where my friend and co-worker Rima and...
